POST 3: My Favorite Cartoon Character!
Hi everyone,
In this post I'm going to tell you something about my favorite cartoon character (mainly during my childhood) which is a classic cartoon network series: Courage the Cowardly Dog :-)
If you don't know who Courage is, I can tell you that the character is a pink dog that it's in charge of taking care of its owners, Muriel and Justo, when evil stalks them in their home located in the middle of Nowhere.
I really like this character because it creates a kind of paradox between its name and its attitude during the plot. But what do I mean with this? The dog is called Courage but at the beginning of each episode, he is very scared of approaching to the particular enemies of the plot and when their owners are in danger, he transforms all that FEAR into COURAGE, in order to protect mainly Muriel. As I said before, Courage must face very particular enemies which cause the series to be scary because they had particular personalities and expressions.
Before writting this post, I decided to watch an episode of this old cartoon network serie and I find a polemic episode that it's called ''THE MASK''. I didn't know why some websites say it was very controversial but after I finished watching the chapter I realized why: the plot of the chapter covered a sexist topic considering that it was a series for children. However, I prefer to keep the good memories I have of this animated series and the fun that it caused.
I will never forget the classic ''stupid dog'' that Justo said to Courage in every moment he could say those words to the pink dog and, by the way, the innocent and kindly personality of Muriel.
